Hey! Yesterday was the 54th anniversary of Linus Pauling receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in Chemistry. He got it for his research into the nature of the chemical bond. Only later on (1968), did he coin the term 'Orthomolecular' and become a Vitamin C advocate. Ironically, when presented with the Prize, the presenter said: “How far Pauling is right in detail still remains to be proved…” Did that stick with him, or what?! The Nobel Prize website has educational games based on Laureate’s work. There isn’t one for Pauling’s work, but, if you have a second, you MUST check out the Vitamin B1 game for Christiaan Eijkman who researched beriberi and polished rice, and pointed to a ‘substance’ later called vitamin B1.
