About ten years earlier, G.S. developed pain on urination, apparently his first symptom of Crohn’s disease. Two years ago, he developed severe pain and required surgery. During the operation, his bowel and bladder were found to be adherent. After that, he had little difficulty with his bowel but was anxious over a possible recurrence. Dr Abram Hoffer started him on a sugar-free diet and advised him to add ascorbic acid, vitamin E, zinc sulfate, and a multivitamin tablet. One year later, he was well, with no evidence of any resurgence of Crohn’s.
