About Me:
Dr. Burford-Mason is an immunologist, cell biologist and orthomolecular nutritionist with a deep interest in the evidence base for complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and health. Aileen graduated in biochemistry from University College, Dublin, and received a Ph.D. in immunology from the University of Hertfordshire. She is formerly Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and Director of The Connacher Head and Neck Cancer Research Laboratory at The Toronto General Hospital. A well published author, her scientific papers, book chapter and articles cover many fields including gastroenterology, pathology, cancer, infectious diseases and nutrition. In 2004, Aileen co-founded and currently serves as Board President of the Holistic Health Research Foundation of Canada.
